Jesus, make us a House of Prayer.
In Matthew 21 and Mark 11, Jesus quotes Isaiah 56:7 and says, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations! ”
Why? If he wants his people to be a “House of prayer for all nations”, it seems he’s saying he wants his church, wherever they are, to be people of prayer on mission.
Prayer puts us squarely in relationship with God, and involves us in his supernatural activity, both in the church and beyond it.
We could never achieve the mission God has called us to - reaching and discipling all people - without calling on the name of the Lord.
This is why we take prayer on mission by gathering in hubs all over the city on 5th Sundays.
We want to be a church that seeks God in prayer.
We want to be involved in God’s mission to reach all people, through prayer.
