What should I expect at the celebration service?
We have a worship service, or celebration service, the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 5pm at Cedar Ridge Christian Church. Our celebration service (in the gym) is about 125-200 people and quite loud. Feel free to stop by the information table or grab a cup of coffee. If you need childcare, ask the nice folks behind the counter to direct you, and they gladly will. Then head on into the gym and take a seat. We start out with some music, then have a couple announcements and maybe a time of prayer, then move into an extended time of worship. After that, someone will teach for about 30 minutes. Sometimes we end the evening with some more music or a chance to ask for prayer. We're usually done by 7pm. If you'd like a sneak peek, you can check out our celebration service videos.
If there happens to be a fifth Sunday in a month, we have our celebration service like usual at 5pm, but we dedicate that night to all worship and prayer. Most things are the same as other celebration services, except that instead of having a teacher, we may pray together or sing a few extra songs.
What if it's a first or third Sunday? That's when most of our missional communites meet.
What should I expect at a missional community?
Every missional community is a little bit different. Our current missional communities are listed here, and as time passes we hope that our missional communities multiply and new ones emerge. Anyone is welcome to simply show up at a missional community meeting, but if you'd like a little more information before you show up, feel free to email or call the contact person listed on that missional community's webpage. They'll gladly give you an overview of what the evening will be like and answer any questions you might have, then they'll be sure to look out for you when you arrive and welcome you.
